White Stains

White Stains were a "band" in a very literal sense. Hailing from Sweden in 1987, many people were active in creating many forms of music with the constant creator being Carl Abrahamsson and later joined by Thomas Tibert. The band as such existed between 1987 and early 1994. At Stockholm was the first full length album by White Stains and was their iconic release titled after the Aleister Crowley poem read aloud and augmented into other spoken defragmenting by none other than Genesis P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV fame, who has always been a constant collaborator and instigator with Abrahamsson and the like.

After a turbulent first year of existence, circa 1987-1988, the band had evolved from loud psychedelic rock to considerably more experimental sounds. A great instigator of this change was Thomas Tibert, who became an integrated member late 1988. Erototox Decodings released the definitive compilation by White Stains in 2005, marking it as their debut release entitled Exploratorium (etd0001). Since then it has been a long and winding road to excess.
